BMW

Ian Rider's car, with metallic silver bodywork. He was driving it when he was killed. Supposedly his car was hit by a lorry at Old Street roundabout when he was driving home, and he had been killed instantly.

Alex later sees the car at the breaker's yard. When he gets closer, he sees the damage. The windscreen is smashed, along with all the windows on one side. A spray of bullets had caught the car full on driver's side, shattering the front tyre, then smashing the windscreen and the side windows and punching into the side panels. The front seats are strewn with fragments of broken glass and stained with patches of dried blood.

Condor Junior Roadracer

A custom-built bike, bought for Alex on his twelfth birthday. It's a teenager's bike with a cut-down Reynolds 531 frame, but with full-sized wheels so Alex can ride at speed with hardly any rolling resistance. Alex uses it to ride to and from Brookland School.

Mercedes SL600

A silver-grey car that picks up Alex (when he is in his Felix Lester disguise) from London and drives him down to Port Tallon, to Sayle Enterprises. The seats are a soft leather, and the engine is a 389 horsepower 6 litre.

Submarine

A Chinese Han Class 404 SSN submarine, nuclear-powered and armed with nuclear weapons. It has a silver casing, no markings and a shark's tail rudder. It appears late at night at Sayle Enterprises, and Yassen Gregorovich comes out. From the submarine, men unload forty or so large metallic silver boxes with a vacuum seal.

Quad bikes

Kawasaki four by fours, powered by 400cc engines with automatic transmission; black. Two of them chase Alex at Port Tallon.

Colibri EC120B helicopter

A red and yellow, light single-engine aircraft. One of quietest helicopters in world. This is intended to be Herod Sayle's escape vehicle.
