A difficult kid to kidnap

Four members of Force Three come in the middle of the night to kidnap Paul Drevin but Alex foils their plan by switching room numbers and names with Paul, making them believe he is Paul. He then takes them out, one by one.

Escape artist

Alex is trapped in a room high up in a tower block, which is set on fire. He stands on a chair and knocks a hole in the ceiling tiles, revealing a tangle of wires and a crawl space. Alex then hauls himself up and clambers along and past the door, jumping down on the other side of the door into the corridor.

He then finds himself on the roof of the tower block with no escape route down. The tower block opposite is joined to his block by two steel cables. Alex escapes by walking across this cable as if on a tightrope.

Kite-surfing to freedom

While trying to escape from Flamingo Bay to Barbados, Alex is pursued by two speedboats. He avoids the first round of machine-gun fire by jumping in the air so that bullets pass harmlessly underneath. He takes out the first speedboat by leaping in the air again and hiting the driver on the head with it. As the man crumples, with his finger still on the trigger of his machine gun, the bullets tear into the driver of the other boat, taking that out as well.

Defeating Kaspar in space

Kaspar is armed with a Sabatier knife and is much more adept in zero gravity than Alex, although Alex manages to get him to drop the knife by throwing a hammer at him. Kaspar is in the process of strangling Alex, when Alex manages to open a window facing the sun. Sunlight pours in, blinding Kaspar, and his knife (previously dropped by him) then buries itself into the back of Kaspar's head.
